Why have you destroyed ATI, Acronis? The 2012 version is bad.

Thread needs solution

I'm must say I'm really disappointed in the developments with ATI 2012.

I've been a rock-solid fan of ATI for several year, recommending it to many customers - even to family and friends! Been a keen follower all the way from version 10.

But ATI 2012 is simply bad.
Should not have been released.

What happened to quality control and someone sticking their finger in the air to see if the new GUI/interface was a good idea?

ATI (the previous versions) had already gotten a lot of things very right - but ATI 2012 changes everything and it is completely messed up.

The interface is bad.
The interaction with the interface is bad, especially when you are to select which partitions you want to back up. The windows doesn't give you a good overview and there is no way to change it.
What happened to the good old tree-structure that gave you an actual overview of each disk.
This new selection window is just horrible!

What happened to the "Wizard walkthrough" idea for creating backups?
I'm a highly experienced computer user, but this serious mis-tep by releasing Acronis 2012 has made me lose almost all the trust and faith that I've built towards ATI for many years now..

Oh, let's not forget.

ATI2012 cannot manage to mount any images (error saying cannot assign drive letter....something) - I'm not allowed to import backups into the list inside the Acronis application window (error saying that image cannot be imported into list). I have Win 7 32 and 64 bit, I bought licenses for each of the systems.

The only thing working is the Rescue Media - now I have to boot every time I am to retrieve files!

This is almost unforgivable, Acronis!!!!
Acronis True Image 2012 is really bad.

Best regards,
-Faithful customer and supporter

I agree with you guys version 2012 has a pretty bad user interface. Try to validate a single backup file. If it is not on your list of valid backups then you can't validate it. They have taken away the ability to specify the backup file or if it is there it is so well hidden that I simply couldn't find it.

I think the last truly good version was ATI version 11. That is version 11 and not version 2011. Version 2009 and 2010 I learned to live with, but I liked version 11 better.

Hello Dontwanna Telle, George and Virgil,

Thank you for your comments.

Dontwanna Telle, thank you very much for your feedback. Please rest assured, I have forwarded it to our Customer Listening System so that our Development team can improve our products.

I would recommend this KB article to resolve the issue with mounting backups. There are several workarounds that can be used.

If you need to retrieve files from your backup, another way to do it would be either through the backup explorer in ATIH2012 or by double clicking on the .tib file.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I agree 2012 is appaling. Backups that used to run under 2011 wont work now.

I want my money back.

I agree with You Dontwanna Telle
ATIH 2010 is much better then 2012
Too bad for the money that has cost THE UPGRADE

Hello Ian and Geni,

Thank you for your comments, and sharing your feedback with us. This is really important as we do value Customers opinion and accept critics as a gift: a complaint is always an information that helps us to set things right and heads us in the right direction.

Rest assured your comments had already been sent to the Management team.

Ian, actually Acronis True Image Home 2012 is fully compatible with the backups created by the previous version. So in case it doesn't work, then the issue might be related to some drivers conflict or any other reason that can get solved. Could you please give us more details on this issue? I'm positive we can help you with this one.

Geni, thank you for your comments. It looks like you've faced technical difficulties with Acronis True Image Home 2012. Can you let us know the details?

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
