Will I be able to restore backups done with Acronis True Image 2014 after it's uninstalled?

I'm planning to uninstall Acronis True Image 2014 and start using another local backup software. During the time that I was using Acronis it backed up 2TB worth of my data, which resides on an external HDD. I will unplug it and won't use it for the new backup software.

My question is, after I completely remove Acronis from my computer, if need be (I hope not!) will I be able to restore my data that was backed up with it?

PS. I looked at it and it uses some proprietary format for the backups.

You could use the Acronis 2014 bootable rescue media to recover those backups when necessary.

Thanks. So this means that I need to create their bootable media before uninstalling it, correct?
