Win7 + Acronis 2011 tib-archive in secure zone gets renamed during restore....
Hi,
I am using Acronis Home version 2011 incl. the Plus Pack. Applications have been patched to lates versions.
I have installed Windows7 Professional and Acronis 2011 on the same disk. I have created a Secure Zone on the disk which contains my installation image, named testpc1_win7prof_x86.tib.
In order to test the backup I simply reboot the PC and press F11 in order to load Acronis Recovery Manager.
During the restore process I select the tib archive from the Secure Zone. I restore all partitions incl. MBR (I have checked recover disk signature).
The system gets restored and I close Acronis 2011 Home.
When windows restart, I login and everything works OK. However, when I inspect the archive in the Secure Zone it is no longer named testpc1_win7prof_x86.tib but AAAN.tib (or similar).
By auto-renaming the image, it is almost impossible to identify, which image to restore in case more than one backup has been created. I have had similar issues with Acronis Home 2009 and 2010.
Have I misunderstood something or what am I doing wrong?
Any help on this is much appreciated.
Thanks
Cheers

Hi Pat,
Thanks for your reply, and sorry for not responding any sooner.
Manual renaming of the image files located in the ASZ did not succeed and as the images are used for quick restoration of test pc's it is not possible from a practical point of view to handle this manually.
I did try to move the ASZ to a dedicated disk, but the result was the same. Also, subsequent to restoration, did overwrite the Acronis Startuo Recovery Manager, but I can see from the KB that this is an ongoing issue present in ATI 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Hence, my solution is for the time being: ASZ is not used, The recovery Manager is not used. Not exactly optimal and I really hope Acronis do fix those issues in later version of ATI.
Finally it should be noted that restoring directly from ATI installed on the PC works fine, though it is not optimal according to my requirements.
Thanks again for your assistance.
Cheers
