Win8: Scheduled Backups Don't Start

I have three scheduled backups on my Win8 64 bit desktop machine. They do not wake the computer to perform the backups.
On a Win7 64 bit machine scheduled backups work correctly, waking the computer to do the backup.
From googling it appears this may be a problem with TI2013 under Win8. I would like to confirm that, or get some advice on how to resolve the problem.
