Thread needs solution

I have just updated to Windows 10. Since then I cannot make a nonstop backup anymore. Normal backups are Ok. My build is 6613. I get an error (see att.). System report is attached also.

New update won't run. Is there a cleanup tool for Win10 as the existing one doesn't work in Win10? Getting the "Fatal error during installation. Previous Acronis product (18.0.6525) has not been removed completely. Before proceeding, please run Cleanup Utility. See details at: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876". Have tried various reg tweaks but probably made things worse! I have manually removed Acronis and also all reg keys where Acronis is mentioned but obviously the cleanup tool does more.

There are a Reset this PC option in recovery menu Win10.
That works as clean install, the actual build. But there are a possibility Win10 deactivate !
My deactivate and no Win8 serial key did work to activate, i purchase Win10 genuine activation.
But now i have read, that it was a microsoft server problem, others have reset and got it activated again.
Not really sure, but reset was nice, i got a clean Win10.

I dont thrust acronis now, i use Win10 backup, and have make a Win10 system rescue bootdvd.

Hi,
I need the clean utility tool to remove Acronis True Image 2015 in windows 10. I get always the message " Wrong Windows version detected.".

When release the new Acronis Clean Up Utility?

I created an image of my machine with Acronis True Image 2015, before updating to Windows 10. Now, Acronis will not launch and I have not been able to reinstall the program without an error message. Any ideas?

I did remove the entire program from my system and tried a clean install to no avail. When I download the installer program, and try to run it, I receive an error message "installation has failed. The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel".

Any ideas?

I have some trouble with Acronis True Image 2015 build 6613 on a fresh new Windows 10 Pro X64 installation. I have installed all my software without any problem, but after installation of this build of True Image, the system hang with Strange behavior. Task manager doesn't open and freeze. If i reboot and deinstall True Image, all become smooth.

Any idea for the next build to resolve this problem ?
Previously i use True Image on Windows 7 Pro x64 without problem.

Thanks for help

I upgraded three Win 8.1 Pro 64 boxes and with the latest build of ATI 2015 and ATI 2015 seems to be working well; it has appatently decided it needs to do a new back-up to the cloud in both cases.

I downloaded the media installation kit, saved to USB stick. Copied contents to local HDD and ran the update from there. Do not try booting from this media as it will not pick up your old Win 8.1 serial number.

But why ATI now ?, when i have Win10 full system backup, with a system repair bootdvd.
That backup full disc C: and moore if i like, custom. And it's able to restore whatever backup I've make.

I'm afraid of ATI now, when reading about all with problems, disaster; uninstall don't work, pc don't boot up, and moore.

And reading ATI site, it still don't support Win10.

ATI 2015 build 6613 does not work with Windows 10 on my Surface 3. The GUI freezes.

Have you loaded the new driver via Windows Update? I loaded it before udating to the latest Acronis 2015 build. Subsequently udated to Windows 10. The strange thing is that it is classifed as an 'optional' update.

Sorted my problem out the long way! Re-installed Win7 using Acronis - used the cleanup tool which sorted out the original problem - ran the new Acronis upgrade 6613 which installed without hitch - then upgraded to Win10 again and with Acronis 6613 now transferred over in the Win10 upgrade backed up my new Win10 setup. Checked it had worked using another drive (I only use SSDs now for the OS) and it worked fine.

@IanL-S: Surface 3 with Win 10 has the latest updates including optional updates.

Hi Phil,

The problem with this tool is that it will not run under Windows 10; you get a response that it's the wrong version of Windows when you try and run it. It appear that Acronis needs to provide a cleanup tool that actually will run under Windows 10, in order to completely uninstall the product. I've done registry edits to remove anything Acronis but that, so far, has not done the job. I'm sure I'm missing something, somewhere, that an actual cleanup tool would provide. So, we're both in the same boat for now. I really like their product, but am not happy with their support recently. They should have seen this one coming.

Phil,

I'm not willing to go through all that; way too much work, but good for you.....I'm glad it got you back. Again, you shouldn't have to go through all that to get the product functional again.

Hi Ian,

I did all of this before I updated Windows, and it didn't make any difference for me. There are so many variables with a major software upgrade, that there are bound to be problems along the way. I'm hoping they will have a work-around that functions with Windows 10.

I stop notifications from this forum now.
No use, ATI never gonna support Win10 in the 5 months i have left of my license, and i uninstalled ATI 6 months ago, when i update to Win10 technical preview.
I use Win10 system backup now, in future i don't know, there's a lot of backup program out there, I'm gonna compare all, before i choosing any other than the free Win10 system backup.

Phil,

I actually used the Windows backup as well, and it seemed to work ok. The only problem with it is you cannot go back and pull out individual files to restore. That may not be a huge deal for most people, but it's a nice option to have and it did work very well with the Acronis product. It'll be interesting to see how this gets handled.

@Bruce Browning: You mean the system image backup file? That would be interesting for me too because TI 15 does not work with Win 10. How do I manage to restore the system with this?

WGlobal,

I believe you have to create a Windows system disk, which you can do through the menu. Once that disc has been created, then you can boot to that disk on start-up and, supposedly, restore from the image, or images, that have been created. Mind you, I have not tried that yet.

I think with system [installation] disk you mean: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10, which says "If you need to install or reinstall Windows 10, you can use the tools on this page to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD."

The restore process is described here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/restore-computer-from-system… , which says: "If you can't access Control Panel, you can restore your computer using a Windows installation disc or a system repair disc (if you have one)."

So we can use this as long TI 2015 does not work with Win 10.

I have make a "Win10 system repair disc" from the Win10 system backup program, it's a bootdvd.
I haven't use it yet, no need to restore any backup.
Have make some Win10 full system backups, to a WD My Book 2TB usb3.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I have just completed doing an Acronis clone of my main Win10 to another SSD and that worked fine. I think I will now experiment with the Win10 backup/recovery options and see how that goes.

I recently updated to Windows 10 and Acronis ATI 15. I was checking the device drivers in Windows 10 and the Acronis ATI mounter has the following warning:

"The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."

What's causing this error?

A new software driver for Acronis TI was released via Windows Update several days before the release of the latest build on ATI2015, the first build to officially support Windows 10. Strangely it is an optional update. Check to see if it is listed as an optional update (do check for updates first).

Please post back the results as the migration to Windows 10 can be a murky process.

this is the second time i try, i dont like to get more email from this.

Without my interference nonstop started working all of a sudden. I can't explain. I still don't have good feelings with ATI 2015 and Windows 10. It gets stuck sometimes and then I have to use Task manager to get out of the program.
