Windows 7 not genuine after Restore with ATI ?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a multi boot system with Fedora, Win XP Pro and Windows 7.

Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade edition 64bit

Within Win XP, using Acronis True Image 2009 Home, I made a restore of the backup of my Windows 7 partiton.

But after the restore when windows is starting I will see only a neet blue screen with the rigth corner saying that Windows is non genuine.

I don't understand this.

What I have and I have done is this:
1) installed win xp pro
2) installed win 7
3) activate the two version of windows
4) separate the two booting sequences
5) used Boot-us as boot manager
6) made a full backup of winxp with Acronis True Image 2009 Home
7) run an incremetal backup of Windows 7 with Acronis True Image 2009 Home
8) used the system for several months without problems
9) moved the the Windows 7 partition with with Acronis Disk Director from Win XP
10) changed the Boot-us paramater
11) used the system without problem
12) restored the backup of my Windows 7 partiton from Win XP using Acronis True Image 2009 Home
13) started windows 7
14) get the warning Not Genuine and nothing else.

Any suggestions?

Lauro,

I'm not sure what it is that upsets W7 with a restore, though in your case it might be moving the W7 partition.

Sometimes it will just disappear again after a couple of reboots, other times I have found bringing up the System page (Windows button + break/pause key), clicking on change product key, entering the PID again, follow the instructions on the wizard and all is well again.
