Windows 7 super simple One Click Backup...how to restore?

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I'm using a licensed copy of TI2010.

I did a fresh install of Win7 Pro x64 on a blank SSD (X-25M if it matters.)

Once the install was complete, I installed all the Win7 updates and authorized my copy of Win7. I then installed TI2010, and did a one click backup (so this could be a restore of the base install of Win7.)

TI2010 put the backup (about 5 gigs) on my data drive (Samsung 1TB.)

Then I created my restore media.

I then wiped out the partition on my SSD.

I booted to my restore media.

I selected "recovery, then recovery wizard", then I browsed to my image on my data drive (I called it Win7Install.tlb.) Clicked Next.

Then I selected "recover whole disks and partitions.", Next.

Then on "What to recover" I wasn't exactly positive. It shows "Disk 1" with 3 options underneath it. 1) NTFS (System) (C:) Primary 74.43 GB
2) MFS and Track 0 MBR and Track
3) NTFS (System Reserved) Pri,Act 100 MB

I figured I should select them all, so I did. Next.

Now the next option was "Settings of Partition 1-1" which is that System Reserved partition. I know this is a partition that Win7 creates for BitLocker and recovery, so I didn't find it strange that it was here. I can only click on "New Location"

When I click that I see Disk 1 (my SSD) which says Unallocated 74.53 GB and Disk 2 (my data disk) which says Pri. I know I don't want to restore to my data drive, so I obviously pick the SSD. At this point all I can click on is "Accept."

Now the other options are available for partition type and size. I leave them as they are and click "Next."

Now for "Settings for Partition C" same as before. I can only click on "New location" I select the rest of my SSD here and leave the rest alone.

Next is MBR. Dunno so I just click "Next"

Now I'm on Finish, so I click Proceed. It goes through 3 steps but the first two are too fast to read. The last is "Recovering Partition." It runs for about 5 minutes and says "Recover operation succeeded." I click "ok" and then close the Acronis window. It says "shutting down Acronis True Image Home and the computer reboots.

And it all works...Win 7 loads fine.

I originally started writing this post b/c I was getting a bootmgr error. I'm guessing by leaving everything as the default it did things correctly and I must have been mucking around with some setting (I was clicking and looking at the "Select Default" options of everything.

I figured since I typed all this, someone might find it useful. :)
