Windows concern

Thread needs solution

I've backed my OS and applications to another hard drive but I'm concerned about using scheduled backups to keep it current. Should Windows become corrupted, won't a scheduled backup copy the corrupted OS making my backup worthless? Wouldn't it be better to manually create additional backups?

John,
Important data should always be backed up more than once and to more than one location. It is very unlikely that you will lose your OS and all of your back ups at the same time. It is also important to validate your back ups on a regular basis. This ensures with a high level of probability that your back ups can be used to recover data if needed. I have 3 sets of backups spread across 2 NAS devices and a bunch of disks I keep at work. This ensures I always have an alternative.
