Windows Error after Full Disk Re-image 2013
New HP Pro-Book 6570b, I5, 4GB mem, 500GB HD, Win 7 Pro.
After re-installing image using Acronis 2013, Windows provides message that "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown". The message is provided at first start up. Windows message described issue with a "Problem Event Name: Blue Screen"
We saved an image right after Win 7 install and before loading programs or accessing internet. There is nothing on the image, except what it saved from the initial Win 7 start up.
Image was made using Acronis 2013 disk as a boot disk. Image saved on a WD "Elements" 2GB external USB hard drive.
The Image was re-installed on Pro-Book using the Acronis 2013 disk as a boot disk.
Image re-installed multiple times, and the problem has repeated. Different re-imaging attempts have been performed with the idea of selecting different option, including:
1-mbr signatures not checked and on start up USB drive attached
2-mbr signatures checked and USB drive disconnected

An error has repeated itself intermittently on subsequent boots. My intent is to have a whistle clean install.
I had used the computer to gather programs and other things I wanted to install an experiment with. So I had booted up and turned off multiple times before the re-image. I did not have this issue with the system when I was 'playing' around.
I have now been stopped in my tracks, because as I mentioned, I encountered an error. Now that I am ready to proceed with installing a 'whistle clean' system and load program in an order I want with the settings I want, I re-image the system just after Windows loaded for the first time, and I get the error.
Having an error on the first Acronis re-image means that the system is not 'whistle clean' and may indicate future issues.

You are right. Sounds like the stability of the system is questionable. Acronis will do a good job of creating an image as you are doing, and I use this procedure often to do the same. I have never had a restored image of a known good, stable OS install do this. I would suggest a new install of Windows 7 using only Windows default drivers where you can, only adding drivers that Windows does not have, or can not be downloaded as a Windows Update. Then apply all Windows OS updates and any Service packs available. Only after rebooting several times and allowing the system to run for a while, would I consider the system stable enough to create a "Master Image" for re-install.
I routinely do several images during an OS install. One right after the OS install finishes, even before any necessary driver updates. And additional images after each major driver install. This gives me the ability to "fall back" if stability issues show up. Once all the drivers and Windows Updates are in place, I then make a "Master Image" for a new starting point if a new install warranted later.

It is nice to know there are crazy people like me.
Last time I did this, I ended up with 750GB of images for 1 computer and the process spanned several weeks.
OK, I will pursue the avenue of re installing the OS. I am just not looking forward to it. That is the whole point of doing the image 'thing' with Acronis.
I had expected that Acronis would have imaged a stable system and then the re-install of that image would also be a stable system. HP has unique characteristics which prevent Acronis pre-2013 from working. In order to image a current HP computer, you need Acronis 2013. When I learned this, I crossed my fingers that Acronis got it right and the images would work.
We shall see if re-installing the OS Win 7 Pro and the Acronis images of the re-install work without errors.
