Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2 and Acronis TI 7.0

Thread needs solution

We have to roll back a Win 7 system to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2.
Simple question:

Is Acronis TI 7.0 compatible with Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2 ?

TIA and best regards

I don't think it is -- supports xp, sure, but 64bit is likely to cause you headaches. ati7 dates back to 2004 and although xp had been around for about 3 years, it couldn't support a lot of the hardware around then. It's even less liekly to support newer hardware. Around midterm ati9, the backup engine was entirely replaced (a genuine free upgrade to users). And then automated file managemetn was added with ati10. Remember, Personal computer technolgoy ages about 3 times faster than dogs, so ati7 is like, 195 years old ;)

I'd try to get more recent version, preferably ati10 (as opposed to ati2010) if your hardware is as old as xp or ati11 (as opposed to ati2011) if it's as old as Vista and ati2010 if it's as old as w7.

It seems to me that I used it successfully for a few years (ATI7 and XPx64). At least, I'd say it's worth a try, which of course should include an attempt to Restore.

I am somewhat confused however as to why you'd need to do this, since ATI7 has never worked with W7???
