Wrong OS version?

Thread needs solution

OK, so I tired to run AcronisCleanup.exe to remove TI 2009 in order to install TI 2010. After disabling UAC, restarting the machine and running cleaner.exe, a red command window appears stating: Wrong OS version. I'm running Win7u 64.

I find it hard to believe that there is no cleanup utility compatible with win7? And, if not, what is the best way to remove it manually? My attempt included uninstalling from CP and then going through the registry and deleting all Acronis entries. Seemed to work, but trying to restore an image of C:\ from within windows resulted in a system freeze after POST (this was after Acronis attempted and failed its reboot into the Acronis environment). Just want to make sure everything is pristine for the next (and last) 2010 install.

Does anyone have trouble running this util in win7 64?

Thanks.

Hello MH,

Let me help you.

The thing is that Acronis True Image 2009 Cleanup Utility is not Windows7-compatible since the software (True Image 2009) is not intended to run on that OS.

I may recommend you to use a different cleanup utility available at this link, it's fully compatible with Windows 7, so it should remove the software completely.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.
