X: prompt is all I can get to after Acronis restore led to your blue troubleshooting screen.

Thread needs solution

I was frustrated that Comcast couldn't help me access any of my favorites Internet sites from Win 8.1 Pro besides theirs prompting me to initialize the product the tech had already done. Reboot went straight to the initializing screen without me even logging onto the Internet. Internet properties stilled showed my actual start screen so the Comcast code was embedded somewhere else.

After total frustration with Comcast Chat Help, I tried to run an Acronis entire C-drive restore to last Sunday. It was my first try and I probably screwed up. I had ignored a warning about how I backed it up (mentioned something about partitions). Each time the restore failed after running for over an hour. I tried many of the troubleshooting methods and after the long restore process ended backup at the dreaded blue trouble shooting screen.

Finally I tried the DOS option and got X: prompt. All I can remember how to do is change drives and list the directories and files.

How do I get to Acronis installation disk to execute its emergency startup function from a DOS drive prompt for the CD drive containing the setup disc? All of the non-DOS options just repeated the time consuming failed restore.
