"You dont have appropriate privileges" and "target drive is running out of space" errors when scheduled backup starts

Thread needs solution

I have Windows 7, am using the windows task scheduler with build 6053 TIH 2010 to do a incremental backup. When it tries to start, I always get the message "You dont have appropriate privileges". I open TIH and then see "target drive is running out of space". I have plenty of space on my external USB drive. I can click ignore and the backup runs fine. If I run the script directly from TIH, I just get teh target drive is running out of space error, still works if I say ignore. I dont use the TIH scheduler because it doesnt work at all. I have isntalle dthe new snapapi driver but no change.

Any advice?

Hello Art,

Let me assist you with this situation.

This issue can be caused by some errors on your HDD (that's why the product detects that it's running out of space). So the first thing I would recommend is to check drive for errors:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

Then please try running the backup again.

Also, what exactly happens when you're trying to specify the task with our built-in scheduler? Do you receive any error messages (please provide me with the exact text, if any)?

Also, it would be useful to check  that Acronis Scheduler2 Service (Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup type is set to Automatic in Properties. If it is not so, make it so.
run the schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe manually in Windows Task Manager (File -> New Task).

Please also collect Acronis Report file, which will help us to analyze the structure of your hard drives. In order to create Acronis Report file, please download Acronis Report utility, run it and create a report. The default name of this file is "report.txt" and it is saved on your desktop.
Please attach the file to your answer in this thread.

I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Thank you.
