Upgrading

Thread needs solution

Hi there,
Apologies if this is placed in the wrong section....:-)
I have backed up my windows 7 x64 PC completely. I no longer have access to my windows PC as I've just purchased a MacBook Pro. what do i need to do to recover personal data files and docs only, not the OS files, from the external drive backup to my new Mac?
Im happy to purchase any upgrade to do this, but not sure how to achieve file recovery/copying. is this possible just upgrading from TI2013 to TI2016? i.e. can I purchase TI2016 n copy certain files to my mac directly from my external HDD backup or not?
Cheers :-)

Warren,

I don't have a Mac, but you should be able to do one of the following.

1. double click on the tib file and the file manager should open the tib file (just like opening a zip file) and then you can find the files/folders that you want.

2. If the option is available on a Mac, mount the tib file as a drive and then drag and drop the files /folders you want.

I don't know if there could be a permissions problem with the files you drag over. If there is, it should be solvable by changing the security identifiers to those of the Mac. I don't know how you do that in Mac world.
