Migrate Easy 7 - laptop to new SSD

Thread needs solution

I just purchased a Dane-Elec SSD notebook migration kit which included Migrate Easy 7 on
a thumb drive. Installed Migrate Easy and everything seemed to work fine but the new drive will
not boot up into Windows XP normally. I can get to Safe Mode and everything seems to work.
A logged boot selection will not finish booting up either. Here is my setup:

HP Pavilion tx1000 tablet
Windows XP SP3
Seagate 250GB drive to 80GB SSD (~60GB free on SSD after migration)

Safe mode will boot and run fine but a normal XP Boot hangs during the "moving bar" screen.

Thanks,

Wayne

Hello Wayne, welcome to our forum!

Let me assist you with this situation. Most probable cause is that your system has been somehow corrupted during the clone, and now it's not able to load normal configuration. Probably the partition alignment has been changed (we've heard about similar cases with SSD drives).

Please reboot your computer to load last known boot configuration. The description of this process is given below:

1. When your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.

2. Use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Boot configuration option, and then press ENTER.

If this does not help, please try to create a partition on your target SSD drive before cloning (you may use any partitioning software, for example Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0) and perform the clone after that.

IF this still does not help, could you please let me investigate this situation andcollect Acronis Report file, which will help us to analyze the structure of your hard drives?  In order to create Acronis Report file, please download Acronis Report utility, run it and create a report. The default name of this file is "report.txt" and it is saved on your desktop.

Please feel free to ask me if you have any other questions concerning our products.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
