"All-In-One VMware Appliance" add local storage to Acronis Backup Appliance
In your Knowledge Base https://kb.acronis.com/node/61007 is explained, how to add local storage to the Appliance.
But everything I try, will not work. Every time I add the partition to /etc/fstab the system wilt not boot and stops with the message: Faild to start Crash recovery kernel arming.
In the yournalctl I found these messages!
Feb 28 12:59:22 AcronisAppliance-B8D9A systemd[1]: Job dev-sdb1.device/start timed out. Feb 28 12:59:22 AcronisAppliance-B8D9A systemd[1]: Timed out waiting for device dev-sdb1.device. -- Subject: Unit dev-sdb1.device has failed -- Defined-By: systemd -- Support: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/systemd-devel -- -- Unit dev-sdb1.device has failed. -- -- The result is timeout. Feb 28 12:59:22 AcronisAppliance-B8D9A systemd[1]: Dependency failed for /mnt/backups. -- Subject: Unit mnt-backups.mount has failed -- Defined-By: systemd -- Support: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/systemd-devel -- -- Unit mnt-backups.mount has failed.
In one of my tests, I used the UUID instead of /dev/sdb1 and it works. But now, in my new test, I did not get it working again. Have yo any solution for my problem.
And in the Knowledge Base, you better replace the command fdisk with the command parted. With fdisk you can only make partitions with a maximum size of 2TB.
I tested it under VMWare ESXi 6.5 and VMWare Workstation 11.1.3 every time the same problems! I uploaded the complete result of the journalctl
I hope I have described it ok? My English is not my preferred language!
