Acronis 10 refuses to install on Windows SBS 2008

Thread needs solution

I am upgrading from Acronis 9.1 to 10.x

I installed the license server but the installation will not recognize the license as legit.
I installed 10.x using the trial key and it starts but fails during the install of the agent.
The entire install log is attached.
The last few lines of the log as it fails are:

According to the log file the traces of the previous version prevent Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 from installing. I would recommend to get rid of them using Acronis Cleanup Utility or manually.

After that reboot the computer and install the Agent from the scratch.

Unfortunately, no help. I unistalled using both the utility as well as following the instructions for manually uninstalling the product. Rebooted, of course, and then attempted to reinstall.

I get as far at the dialog window that shows the different modules that are to be installed and at the end of the first module, no matter what it is, it indicates that the installation has failed and rolls back with two errors:
Code: 06442537
Line Tag: 0x9f2b3becl6879affbl
Message: Installation Error

and

Suberror
Code: 01603
Line Tag: 0xbd28fdbdl64edb8b9l
Message: Fatal error during installation

I spent about four hours on-line with chat support where they took control of the server but they get to further than I do.

The failed installation could have another reason, you should have attached a new .msi log file to your post.

Install the program. If the issue still persists, please obtain the .msi log file (this file is available at the bottom of the program window after the installation failure) and attach to your next post. After that please let me know about it via Private Message, I will take care of the request.
