Linux Boot Image: don't have all network interfaces

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I created a bootable iso via the acronis media builder (type: Linux-Based, Linux-like representaion). For a restore, I need a network connection but after booting the iso image, I only get 2 interfaces instead of 4.

I am running RHEL4 on the server and following modules are loaded e1000 and bnx2:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 11)
06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 11)
1c:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82571EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)
1c:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82571EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)

When booting via the iso image, I only have eth0 and eth1 (interfaces created for the intel ethernet controllers).

How can I debug this?

Thanks.

Regards,

Dirk

Hello fievel,

Thank you very much for your post. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

The reason for the network cards not getting detected, if I am not mistaken, they are the Broadcom ones, is that our standard bootable media does not support Broadcom network cards. However, you can use the bootable media based on ISOLINUX to resolve this issue.

I will generate a unique link and send you a PM right now, so that you can download and burn the ISO image to a CD. After that, please try booting from it and let me know if you run into any issues. Please note, the trial version bootable media has a limitation, it can only be used for restoration operations.

Thank you.
