Hello Rob,

Welcome to our forum!

Do you use any antivirus solution apart from our agent? If yes, please whitelist or exclude our agent from there to avoid conflicts or crashes: https://kb.acronis.com/content/36429.

Also, check the event viewer to identify the event and the error: https://kb.acronis.com/content/61335.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Restart the Service:

  1. Open the Services application by pressing Win + R, typing services.msc, and pressing Enter.
  2. Locate the AcronisCyberProtectionService.
  3. Right-click on it and choose "Restart."

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure that your Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is up-to-date.
  • Download the full agent and perform a fix installation.

If the issue persists, please raise a ticket with our support at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153.

Best regards.

I forgot to mention in my original post that I'm running Acronis 2021 not Cyber Protect Home Office.  I believe 2011 has a feature called Protection that guards for ransomware and other virus.  The AcronisCyberProtectionService service is set up for automatic and I cannot stop, re-start or refresh it.  Why is it even in my system if I do not have Cyber Protect Home Office?

Also, the other virus protection I have running Mcafee Total Protection.  What would be the file name I should whitelist?

Hello Rob,

In the KB I mentioned above (https://kb.acronis.com/content/36429), there is a topic named "Solution for Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office/Acronis True Image."

You should whitelist the services/process according to your OS.

Best regards.
