New Version 6027

Don't ask me why ATI should have anything to do with it but I've reimaged back to v5634 and that version did no such thing?? I then updated again just in case it was a one off incident but no..... it did the same thing and kept changing the setting back when I tried to reset it..??
To be fair I installed the update (from v5634 to v6027) on another Windows 10 PC and it did not do this - but it's still a strange one....
Just a guess but since Acronis inventories all HD's and their partitions as well as external USB's and external attached HD's, it perhaps hangs with a fast startup. Same as when you click on Disk Management - it can take awhile to display if you have some USB devices and external HD's attached.
Disk Director for sure slows down Windows when it starts from a cold boot.

"Would installing 5634 on top of 6027 work?"
I would strictly disagree and be cautious to do so. It might end up with a mix of drivers like snapshot service etc. To put it bluntly: leaving the path of a normal usage confuses Acronis True Image...
the best practice for any problem seems to be uninstalling, cleaning and starting all over again because uncommon scenarios haven't been considered, tested or even coded.
In fact I can promote this simple but user unfriendly approach. Especially if one has many backup tasks. I think statistically seen the average ATIH user does not have more than 1 backup task in use so they consider a reinstallation with a rebuilding of all tasks as acceptable.
At the end we are using a Home Office solution while an enterprise or "data protection enthusiast" - just like me - might want more... just recently someone asked for backup "naming rules and usage of placeholders" again... I better stop commenting that wish before I start an unpleasant rant.

FastBoot and most probably why Acronis now decided to deactivate it is explained here:

I have a question about Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and the updated interface I am hoping someone can help with.
Yet another update, yet another MBR error on startup. Now normally I would just go into 'More Tools' on the 'Tools' menu and reinstate it. This is what I have done twice before.
This time, however, the 'More Tools' button on the interface is not working. It does not bring anything up. All other icons are working, 'Clone Disk' 'Parallels Access' buttons etc all work as expected but nothing happens when I press the 'More Tools' button which is what I need to get to Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.
Or is it? Is there another way to access it directly or does anyone know another way to get to More Tools?
Any help gratefully received.

Karl, I only mention the idea of installing 5634 over 6027 as the uninstall/reinstall approach (which I would normally use) seemed to give me a very unstable result. That is, the list of backups seemed to change each time I ran ATIH. With the laptop, I simply restored a pre-6027 backup so there wasn't a problem. What do you mean by 'cleaning', by the way? Did I miss a trick?
Meanwhile, I have had a reply from Acronis, though it was clear that their IT guy hadn't fully understood the problem. Perhaps my query was unclear, so I've replied with a more detailed explanation and I await the outcome.

Installed 6027. Tried to open my previous backup (based on "disks and partitions") and reconfigure. When I did so, it brought up what I assumed to be the disks and partitions dialog, but it was just a blank window. Then tried to create a new backup -- when using "entire computer" or "files and folders," it worked fine, but "disks and partitions" would always bring up a blank selection window, as if my system had no drives at all. Uninstalled, went back to my previous version 5576, and choosing the same option brought up the proper disk-selection list. Don't know what is going on with my system and 6027 (since I haven't read anyone complaining about the symptoms I encountered) but, until someone can explain what happened and how to work around it, I'm sticking with 5576.

All the tools are in the Start Menu and here:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Acronis\True Image\Tools and Utilities

Fast startup is the first thing i disable when i install a new computer since that feature alone creates more issues than it helps. Keep in mind that the latest update to Win 10 enable it again. I disabled it again...
