error message has every backup directory c:\programdata\microsoft\playready french user

hello,

For a month and with each backup, I have this message

Gilles, welcome to these user forums.

Sorry, but the extract from the log file does not help tell us what is happening and whether any error has occurred or not.

Please use the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and post the full log file where you are seeing these messages then we may have a better understanding.

PlayReady is a DRM (Digital Rights Mangement) tool provided by Microsoft.  It provides rights management of content including encryption.  I would suspect that this tool, given its function, may not be compatible with True Image for backup.

Gilles, you will need to set an exclusion for Path: C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/PlayReady which may be being included through a link in your source data selection:  Créer une archive de sauvegarde Depuis : C:\Users\gilles\  Q:\

Hello Gilles,

The message is not really an "error" in Acronis terminology. There are 3 levels of messages in the logs: 1) "informational" messages, that could be safely ignored, 2) "warnings" that may be of an interest to the user, and 3) "errors", which mean a serious disruption in the program work. According to the log, the message in your case has the second level of importance, warning:

"| niveau de suivi: Attention"

We should look at this part of the message: "Le lien cible n'a pas été sauvegardé.", meaning that a link's target was not backed up. There is a link somewhere in C:\Users\gilles\ or Q: that points to a folder outside of these locations. Namely, that link points to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady. Acronis True Image backs up only files and folders that were selected for backup (C:\Users\gilles\ and Q:). Elements outside of the selection are not backed up (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady).
