Proceedural questions about my first backup...

Thread needs solution

I have lost a few SSD - all but one of the losses can be traced back to an iffy power supply (but this way long after I had got replacments under warranty that I isloated the cause). I have one that has been going strong for over 4 years (only came with a 3 year warranty) - a SanDisk Extreme. Out of more than 10 SSD there is only one that had a normal death. If you get a Samsung or Intel one you should not have any issues. For system drives I go for Samsung 850 Evo.

I have had losses of HDD, including 2 WD 1000rpm drives. One replaced under warranty (its twin is still going strong 6 years later) and another died after 5 years (with this one the problems can be transed back to the same iffy power supply).

As I have so many PCs, all with multiple HDD/SSDs I now monitor the drive health with HardDisk Sentinal. Some of the HDDs go back to before 2010.
