Restore partition C failed
Hi... yesterday I had some software configuration problem on my desktop (not related to acronis) that couldn't be solved and so I decided to restore the last backup of my C: partition.
I tryied to do so from the desktop app but I saw that the restore process didn't allow me to choose wich partition I would like to restore and the "entire pc" would have been resored, including hidden partitions (oem, win 10 hidden partitions, etc). So I decide to reboot with the acronis rescue dvd and there I saw all partitions and could select the C: partition.
1st problem. Booting with acronis rescue dvd I could ONLY select the C partition. This time I needed to do so, but should I have a hardware crash and need to restore the entire pc on a new hard disk, why I can't choose to restore all the saved partition when booting from the rescue dvd? I can restore the entire pc only activating the restore process from the desktop app, but shoud I have a hardware fail I couldn't boot and acces to desktop apps.
2nd problem. When the restore process is started from the desktop app I should have the opportunity to choose to restore only the C partition... because if the hardware is ok the most "logical" action is to restore only the C partition and not all other hidden partition... restore the entire pc with all partition is an extra job that I think could be avoid if the user don't need it.
3rd problem. When I boot with acronis rescue disk and start the restore job to restore only C partition, the restore process start and the progress bar seems to go on, but after 2-3 minutes (about 2% of the progress bar) I get a restore failed message with no other explanation message. This time I could activate the restore process from the desktop app and now I don't want to do any other restore test on this dekstop because in this moment I have my desktop working fine, but I'm very scared about this because if my hard disk fail and I need to replace it, I can't restore the backup booting with the rescue dvd!!! I hope do not never need to do this... :( I could try do do some test on my old desktop with a blank hard disk if someone has same suggestion to try...
