ATIH Backups longer not shorter time

While that particular URL says that only a list of countries "in Northern Europe and the Middle East" are affected, I guess I should not infer that the same thing won't also apply to me here in the USA?
Ref Cyber Protection, see forum topic: Can anti-malware now be turned off?
Thank you very much. I piped up in the thread.
After after all you've done for me and everyone including Acronis, it deeply saddens me to see you--who have always been the picture of serenity--have cause to be so upset. (In which I completely join you.)
Ref alternative solutions, see forum topic: Reflecting on a Post-ATI World
Wow, I deeply appreciate that thread. It will help guide me to a solution I can live with until Acronis may address the new problems.

Coyote, regarding subscription implementation, there were already many reports from users in Australia no longer being able to find perpetual licenses for ATI, so cannot see how they will leave users in other countries still with perpetual licenses and in other areas forced to buy subscriptions!
On the other issues, I am not upset so much as disappointed that Acronis have taken the direction they have! They look to have forgotten the basics of customer loyalty as well as losing sight of ensuring that the core features of ATI work reliably and repeatedly, along with resolving all the issues reported for .tibx files, cloning etc! All this in their quest to turn ATI into an antivirus solution without ever seeking user feedback as to whether it was wanted or needed!

I completely share your disappointment. And the emphatic-ness of your disappointment (if I may take as a guide how many exclamation marks you've used as a guide).
It's very dramatic how much they're needed user feedback. Many users could have told them that requiring validation to run on every chain every created was a bad idea (I've always bought the largest possible drives to have years of chains stored). Any expert user could have told them that requiring antivirus was a terrible idea (given the issues such as OS conflicts antivirus can create). (In retrospect I wonder why AAP didn't worry me.)
When I wrote to the Acronis CEO about the validation of all chains blunder, IIRC I questioned their technical leadership team. But mating backup software to antivirus is such a monumental error it makes the previous blunder look small.
Early in my time here, I believe I mentioned that no software is more important to me than backup software. Because of this, I could not possibly be more grateful to you and others here for making my experience with Acronis as positive as it has been.
And I could not be more disappointed that cherished backup software seems to be committing corporate suicide.
I will certainly come back if they come back to their senses.

I have no issues with Acronis wanting to protect the backup files that they create as was the purpose of AAP when first introduced (and as is the case with Macrium Image Guardian that protects just 4 file types by extension). I was happy to use AAP in this guise, especially as it allowed me to turn it off when needed!
I can understand that Acronis want to embark into a deeper security role but the core issue is that they are forcing this on users instead of either giving users the option to install this feature or not, or else putting this into a separate application like they did with the Plus Packs in much earlier versions of ATI, where the user could use the core functionality or install the PP for other added features.

Hear hear.
Yes, now I remember that's what I also liked about AAP. (Particularly with what I saw as a big improvement from ATI2018 to AAP2020.)
I'm looking to try Macrium. Until then I might use my ATI2020 boot media on my new install; but I really want to run incrementals in Windows (I've never tried them via boot media, as that sounds like a bit of extra manual work).
