Shutting down with backup running
Hi there,
I have ATI 2017 and am considering upgrading, but there's only one problem that I have with 2017 so will only upgrade if it is fixed.
In my version, if a backup is running when I decide to shut-down, then it shows a warning message, stops the backup and shuts down. This is incorrect Windows protocol. It is also intensely annoying if the backup has been running for hours in the background and I simply forgot about it. I would be quite happy to let my computer stay on in that situation. Perhaps selecting the 'shutdown on completion' option if I need to leave.
If I shutdown when a backup is running, it should come up like other programs do, with a message saying that this program is still running and giving me the option to cancel the shutdown.
Has this been fixed in later versions?
Thanks,
PB

Hi Steve,
To quote the great Dr Sheldon Cooper: "I did not know this."
Thank you, you are indeed a legend.

But if you tick the Shut down the computer after the backup is complete option, and you are still working on a completely separate and independent application, does TI tell the computer shut down inappropriately?
I had this scenario where WIN puts up a dialogue (a notification to save unsaved work), and proceeds to shut down after a few seconds if no respose. After being crashed out of Photoshop without a save, I checked there is no way to interrupt or configure the o/s notification should you be on the phrone or something like that. So quite an important issue here perhaps arround that o/s notification.

If you use the above, then the computer gets shutdown when the backup is finished regardless of what else you are doing! Only use this if you know it is ok to do the shutdown.
