Blu-Ray Backup Fails

Thread needs solution

Hi there, I just purchased the new version 2012 so that I can make backups to blu-ray disk. The full backup fails with this error code:Error occurred while writing the file. (0x40003)
Tag = 0x15602567D340AB3F.
I changed to different Blu-ray disk vendors and all give me the same error code, I can drop files from the Windowss explorer window to my blu-ray drive and windows writes the files with no problems. So I so not think that my drive is bad.

This is a normal full backup no cutom settings, just selected my picture directory, selected my "E" drive, entered a name for my backup and hit the [backup now] button.

Please help.

Probably an opti drive driver conflict or related issue and you can tear your hair out tracking it down. Optical drives are pita -- no other type of item on my pcs have caused me more angst over the last couple of decades.

If other progs are burning to the opti okay, then one workaround is to make the backup to hard disk and then burn the backup file to opti using your choice of burner -- I like imgburn because it's powerful, free, and easy to use if you stick with the defaults. But you can use whatever you like. Personally, I'd rather have a harddisk and store backups on that. Unless you're using gold plated archive quality optis, then the hdisk archival expectancy is about the same as optis.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for posting and your help Scott.

Fred, we are very sorry that you experienced this issue and this problem needs to be investigated.

Would you be kind enough to get back to me with some information so that we can troubleshoot it:

1. Model of the blu-ray device.

2. What types of disks are being used.

3. Do you have any other disk recording software installed, Nero for example.

4. Acronis System Report.

5. CDRecord log.

You can send me a private message with this information if you like.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
