ATIH and Lightroom 4?

Thread needs solution

Can image RAW-files in an external HD, backed up with ATIH software, be recognized and cooperate with Adobe Lightroom 4? Someone who uses these two soft wares and knows? How do I do? Is the ATIH Plus Pack necessary?

Casimir,

If you use ATI to do an incremental file backup in order to preserve versions, the versions will be in the TIB archive and won't be visible to Lightroom.
The sync function of ATI can provide versioning if you have an online subscription.
Some software, like Syncback, allow you to sync your pictures with another disk, and keep the versions. It provides also fine grain rules for the syncup/backup (scheduling, triggers, retention rules based on number of versions or age, etc). The benefit of synching software is that it leaves the files "flat" and uncompressed so you can easily browse them with Windows Explorer. Lightroom would be able to track the latest backed up version on that other disk/folder. Older versions, however, are stored in a hidden folder and I am not sure how Lightroom tracks stuff in hidden folders, but you can try this easily yourself.
