ATIH 2011 backup questions

Thread needs solution

hello all,

i have a Windows Vista laptop with two small partitions and one big system partition. i want to install Windows 7. however, before the reinstallation of the OS, i would like to back up the current state of the disk, so that if i don't like the new OS, i can revert to the backup created by ATIH.

so far i've been doing only the Backups, but today i stumbled across an article about Disk Cloning, and now i'm curious - what would you recommend me to do? how would i go about this backup/cloning procedure, so that the OS gets restored, too?

thanks for any answers.

Creating an Entire Disk Image backup is what you'd want, not cloning. This type of backup includes all the partitions on the drive. You would then restore it back to the drive to return to Vista if you needed to. You could also mount the backups in Windows 7 and copy out any data files you might need.
