ATIH2012 will not install after Disk Director is installed & visa versa

Thread needs solution

ATIH2012 will not install after Disk Director is installed & visa versa--
Initially I had a problem with ATIH2012, so I uninstalled with difficult so I used Acronis Cleanup 2012 successfully. ATIH2012 reinstalled and so was ATI2012 Plus Pack Successfully. But Acronis Cleanup 2012 uninstalled Acronis Disk Director 2011, latest version. The install failed, so I used trueimagehomecleanup.zip as recommended. And it removed ATIH 2012, but Acronis Disk Director 2011 installed successfully. But now ATIH 2012 will not install, but "rolls back". What do I do now? This has become very frustrating!!! Thanks, Howard

Hello Howard,
This is a versioning conflict caused by the different files each program uses to run. The uninstallers do not neccessarily remove all traces of a prviously installed software. The clean up utilities often do more, but even they can leave things behind, or in this case are unable to discern between the common files or registry entries created by each product.

When using the DD 2011 clean up tool, did you follow the instructions in regards to ensuring the .dlls and and registry keys were removed successfully? You'll need to run the 2012 clean up tool as well since it has has refused to install successfully.

You should have no problem reinstalling DD after a clean up is performed. Next
I would recommend that you utilize the msconfig utility to disable all non MS or system required services. Start the computer and attempt to reinstall atih 2012. When complete, reset msconfig for normal start up and reboot.

Ensure you are using the latest build installer files for each product and of course ensure you are not performing any of these operations logged in as a user with limited permissions.

In addition, you might have better luck with 2012 if you extract the MSI installer and try installing from that.

Don't forget to delete as many files as Windows will allow in your user temp folder.
