Too Many Activations

Thread needs solution

I installed a new motherboard and Acronis is telling me I have too many activations. I click Deactivate and get the attached error. How can I proceed?

I tried disconnecting the internet (as suggested in this thread: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/36059) but I never got the option to "Try again, Retry automatically later, and Activate from another computer." It just gave me the usual Deactivate screen

I tried online chat but the operator wanted remote access. There's no way I'm giving control of my computer to some stranger in India!

I would suggest trying a repair install of 2013, as it sounds as though part of the program isn't loading, perhpas caused by a clash with new drivers instaled for the new motherboard.

It's worth a try but the problem seems to be on their end.

UPDATE: Repair install did not fix the problem

You can de-activate the license assigned to your old system, and re-activate it on your new system following the instructions in this post: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/36059

Read the first post again. I've tried that already

You may be not following the directions as written.
See this portion again:

" If you have received the "too many activations" and are connected to the internet and the website returns "error" when you try to de-activate, you can leave 2013 open and disconnect from the internet and then select "activate" from the "help" button."

The key here is to click the "help" button (?) in the program and then select "activate".
