i accidentally deleted backup from windows explorer not thru true image 2012
how can i remove the listing of my backup from true image home 2012 if I already deleted it from windows explorer? when I right click on it it just hangs the program. NOTE - I DO NOT NEED TO RESTORE OR USE THE PARTICULAR BACKUP AGAIN, I JUST WANT TO REMOVE IT FROM THE LIST OF AVAILABLE BACKUPS, thank you.

Try first disabling ATI's checking for existing backups. Then try the right-click removal of that item from the list.

As Tuttle stated, From inside TrueImage and inside the specific task, RIGHT click on the "Backup settings" option and click the option MORE and select the "Remove task from LIST" option.
Or, in the Backup settings options, there is also a DELETE option but be aware that this option will delete both the task and the backup file--if the backup file did exist.

not sure if I follow. when I right click on the specific backup that is listed in ATI but has actually been deleted from my drive the only options I have are:
recover
validate
convert to windows backup
mount
delete version
when I click on delete version it doesnot actually remove it or states it cant find it in this location

is there another place I can get to the list rather than from explore and recover on the backup tab?

Left click on the gear icon near the right hand side of the task, select delete or go to more and select remove from the list

Click the "Backup settings" option, the gear icon to the right of the backup listing. But, do that after disabling ATI's searching for existing backups, as I suggested earlier.

i think what you are suggesting will delete all of my backups rather than specific versions. some of the full and differentials are valid but some were removed in windows explorer. This is in the explorer and recover horizontal listing that goes side to side.

Normally when you click on Explore and Recover, Acronis will prompt you when it does not find a backup file on disk that it thinks belongs to the version chain. When this happens, you can tell Acronis to "ignore this version" and it will then remove the entry from the database associated with the physical file that is missing. When you are in the Explore and Recover screens, the listed backups are then correct.
If you are not going to continue using this task (but keep the files), you can remove the task without deleting the backup files (left click the gear icon in the task, select "more", then select "remove from the list").
You can add the backup files back to the Backup and Recovery task list by clicking "browse for backups" and selecting the newest file in the folder.
Acronis will add the backup to the list with any versions of the backup that it thinks still belong to the version chain.
The new backup(s) listed in the Backup and Recovery tab, would not be a "task" only a list of the backup files, (you would be able to use the backup set for restores). To change it back to a "task" you would have to re-create the backup settings as they were before removing the task.
I don't suggest that you re-create the task settings, but start a new task pointing to an empty folder.

thankss for the answer. FOr some reason it does not give me the option of Ignore this version. Anyway I learned my lesson and eventually these will be too old to worry about. Thanks again.
