A Newbie Trying To Recover From A Serious CraSH

Thread needs solution

i HAVE WINDOWS 8 HOME PREMIUM 64 BIT UPGRADED TO WINDOWS 8 PRO 64 BIT. I am a newbie and did something so that when I shut my sytem down and reboot it goes to Windows * install. I am given the option of repairing my dsystem but then the next screen says the drive is locked and I do not know ho to unlock. I have an image made before all of thei and when I get to recovery in Acornis it gives me the option of recovering NTFS (OS) C:, MBR + Trk 0 and Ntfs (system). Do I recover them all and in what order? or do I just recover them all at the same time/

Help. First time I have tried to do this and I am in the dark.

Tick the complete disk option, but don't tick the MBR+track 0 to start with.

If this is a PC or laptop that came with Windows 8 preinstalled you will also need to go into your BIOS and disable Secure Boot and change the BIOS from UEFI to Legacy mode. Once the image is recovered you will need to reenable UEFI and Secure Boot.

If this is an upgrade from Windows 7 system, you won't be using Secure Boot and it is less likely you have a UEFI system.
