Hi,

Atilla:

If you created an image of the system partition from the Windows version of True Image, then that behavior is normal. This is what happens. Windows keeps track of the state of the system (running or shut down) in a file. If you create an image while Windows is running, the file's state is "Running". When you restore the image, either you do it from the boot CD or you start the restore from Windows. In either case, Windows shuts down and the restore is done while Windows is shut down.

When you reboot for the first time after restoring the system partition, Windows checks the state of the file and finds that it should be "running", but it's not. So it produces the error message that you see. This error is harmless, so you can ignore it.

If you want to avoid seeing this error, create the image from the recovery CD while Windows is shut down. When you restore this image, the state of the system (shut down) is consistent, and no error message will be produced.

I've seen that error many times and assumed it was for the reason Mark described. But, Mark did an excellent job of explaining it.
