Questions on upgrade to TI 2013 and Plus Pack
I am a complete novice and have been using TI 11 on occasion to create full image backups periodically.
My Compaq pc with Win XP is 8 years old and may need replacement soon but I have a few questions that perhaps SKS would be winning to answer:
1. the TI 11 I am using is somehow interconnected to the Seagate DiskWizard and will only work when the Seagate Wizard is available. If I upgrade to TI2013 will this create a problem or will TI2013 overwrite both TI11 and Seagate DiskWizard inasmuchas it is not an update but a full upgrade?
2. How many copies of TI2013 am I able to run - should I get a new pc with Windows 7 or 8?
3. Will Plus Pack allow me to transfer a full image of my Win XP files, programs and operating system to a new pc running a later version of Windows?
Many thanks for any assistance.

Many thanks for the responses to my queries. My computing skills fall between novice and obsessive learner. I will read and reread your comments to digest their content and meaning.
You said...: If you wish to run 2013 on more than one PC, the best deal at the moment would be to buy a 3 pack at the special Christmas price.? Has Acronis tweaked their software in later versions - with TI11 I was able to save the .exe file and install it to my daughter XP pc and it seems to function satisfactorily?
I am somewhat unclear on the response to query #3..." Will Plus Pack allow me to transfer a full image of my Win XP files, programs and operating system to a new pc running a later version of Windows?"
You said..."No, the Plus Pack will allow you to port your XP system on to new hardware and install with the new motherboard drivers. "
Can you elaborate on this comment? How is the term port used and when you mention new hardware are you referring to a new hard drive in my current XP pc or are you referring to a new pc?
Sorry to be so obtuse but at age 81 I find learning curves much steeper than in the past.

Frank,
TI 2013 uses an activation system taking into account IDs fo your motherboard, your PC name and possibly other details and sends a code to Acronis. If you attempt to install a single copy on another computer it will inform you that you have 'too many activations' and will require you to deactivate one PC and activate the install on the new PC. So one copy per machine is required.
I am referring to a new PC or the original PC but with a new motherboard. Some people hope though, they can reformat their current hard drive and install a new OS onto their current PC and then recover their existing programs from an image, that is not possible using True Image and the Plus Pack or most other disk recovery software.
What the Plus Pack does is mainly to allow an existing system to be installed onto a new PC or a PC with a new motherboard. No Plus Pack is required if you just want to install a new hard drive and recover an image to that.

Colin, thanks for the simplified explanation. I now have a better understanding of 2013 and its features.
