Can this be done - creating linux images?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and seeking advice on which product to use. I want to create image files from several external SSD's which will be stored on a windows based machine.

Each of these images has a particular function that would be migrated to new SSD's as the need arises, so the stored image files would in effect be used to create clones on a as needed basis.

The source drives are formatted with ext3 filesystem, so my concern is if TI-2013 would handle this or another product needs to be utilized. My current proceedure leave a lot to be desired, but it works.

Thanks

ATI 2013 does support ext3

This means you can backup and restore these partitions. You would use the Acronis version running from the recovery CD on which you have booted your computer. You cannot store the backups on disk/partitions with these file systems

You can make full disk or partition images of ext3 systems, but not file or folder.

You cannot perform any other function with the image such as exploring or mounting.

See online user guide.

Excellent, thanks for your comments. I must have misumderstood the documentation when I glanced throuh it.
