True Image Home 2009 Fails on Acer Aspire One

Thread needs solution

Attempting to use the trial version before buying another copy for this machine...

Windows 7 RTM, it loads ok.  Makes backups and such just fine.

HOWEVER, the restore media, OR the "Secure Zone" Startup Recover manager fails with "Unable to load Linux kernel.  Press <enter> to reboot..."

Oops.  Nice - I have a backup but can't restore it!

Windows 7 includes a backup utility that actually works, but I was hoping.......

Acronis wants me to buy to be able to issue a support incident.  Uh, no.  Let's see it work first!

Anyone else?

Hello Karl,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I have sent you the trial version of Acronis bootable disc based on different loader it should fix the issue. If the issue is resolved you can download full version of ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account after you register the full version of the program.

I found the required ISO and burned it.  It boots.

How do I fix the secure zone?  I looked through the forums and found a previous message on this topic which said that I needed to copy two files from the boot disk onto the fixed disk, but mounting the CD doesn't show me any files.  Also, attempting to activate the startup manager from the booted CD says that the files necessary are missing.

If I can figure this out I think we've got it.

This would resolve a problem I have as well. Where do I get the fix???? -- Mike
