2010 Clone questions...

Thread needs solution

Hi...
I used Backup & Restore 2010, to make a bootable clone using USB with a hdrive.
I made this clone on computer bootup/DOS...it was successful.

I went to take a look at the results using EASEUS Partition master free...this is what there was -

*:system & *:HP (NTFS) and *:factory_image.

That doesn't seem right.
Shouldn't I have *:system, C:HP (NTFS) and D:factory_image. Same as on my HP Pavilion computer?
Is this backup clone is bootable?

Maybe I should have did an internal 2nd drive connection, and not the USB connection...would that

be correct?
I am using Acronis Backup & Restore 2010.
I have know idea of what "active" is meant for.

I'd really appreciate some help with this bootable system drive clone making.
I'm using a HP Pavilion 64 bit...750GB hdrive.

I used to make clones for my old computer with XP...never a problem...ever clone worked for me

Help will be highly appreciated...ron

From your description, it sounds like you are using the words "clone" to mean a recovery of a backup. Acronis has a specific "clone" procedure (which is a disk copy from source to destination); as well as a Recovery a Backup file which is a procedure whereby a backup file is restored onto a new partition or disk.

Look at item #3 below. You should be able to use either item #2 or #1 in order to create a replacement disk.

The correct partition sequence should be what is displayed when you look at your old disk using the Windows Disk Management module graphical view. The "act" (active partition) will appear inside that graphical view of one of those partitions and its replacement disk must have the same active partition designation. The correct partition sequence varies by computers so you need to match what is correct for yours and the Windows disk management graphical view will provide the correct information for your computer.
