TI 2013 Does not see my internal SSD drive

Thread needs solution

I regularly use Acronis to restore a previously created Acronis image, to brand new Intel 40GB (320 Series) SSDs. It normally works pretty well, but as of late I am finding increasing instances of Acronis not picking up my external SSD (connected via external power, through a SATA to USB converter to my PC USB port). I am running Windows XP on this PC and Windows sees the drive perfectly. I can partition, format, mark active, read, write etc. to the SSD with Windows disk manager, but Acronis just does not want to see the drive.

If anybody has experienced and resolved this issue, or can suggest what I can try, your assitance would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a USB 3.0 brand new Toshiba Ext.HD, but ATI recovery Boot CDthat I use for Backup /Recovery - Did NOT see my External Drive, until I plug it in to a USB 2.0 Port.

Vivian,

Apart from the USB workaround mentioned by Matt Tanaka, you might also want to check to see if the problem also exists when booted from the recovery CD.

HI to Everybody,
As Vivan Kercival, i have similar problem: Acronis (12, 13) dont see my external SSD (Corsair Neutron GTX 120 GB),which is connected to the laptop via USB-SATA converter and externally powered. The program recognizes the SSD drive on the "Backup" tab as source, but when I try to restore the backup of my main drive, do not show me the SSD as target. The OS of my laptop is W7 64b, 8GB, i7 QuadCore and Windows see my drive perfectly. Thanks in advance for your help.

Vivian,
I would be sure and confirm that the partitions being created on the SSD by XP is being created with the proper "Starting partition offset".

Often times, the TrueImage "add disk" option is necessary for the drive to be seen.
