Hello Kenan,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for your question.

Unfortunately you did not post, which Acronis product you are using. I think you want to use e-mail notification. Can you please provide more details?

  • Which Acronis product you are using?
  • Which E-mail provider you want to use?

Can you please register your product to be able to download the latest build?

I will monitor this thread and see your answer.

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

Hi,

product is Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Workstation + Universal Restore

and

email is office365

Hi kenan, what do you mean by this configuration not working? Does the authentication fail? Here is how you should configure your SMTP for outlook.com http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18740/~/setting-…

Outgoing Server Settings

  • smtp.outlook.com
  • port 587
  • SMTP authentication applied/ticked
  • SSL applied/ticked
  • Authentication - password

Make sure you use SMTP authentication and not POP authentication (something I've seen people periodically confusing):

Hi kenan,
Looks like there's no route to smtp.outlook.com from the machine you have your Agent installed on. To check this guess you can try the following command run on server with Acronis Agent:
telnet smtp.outlook.com 587
If the screen becomes black, it means, that my guess has failed, otherwise you will get an error.

hi guys,

I have got same problem too...
acronis, cannot send email with using office 365..
we need an urgent solution :(

Hello All,

Thank you for using our forums.

Please verify your settings, as outlook.com as follow up service from hotmail.com did use different settings. See the Help from there here:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/hotmail/send-receive-email-from-mail-client

The used smtp server is then: smtp.live.com

If using the paid service office 365, please contact the support or check the settings in the corresponding help there.

I hope my information helps you.

Thank you.

I just installed Acronis 2013 and was finally able to send notifications via my Hotmail/Outlook.com account.

After sending a few telnet commands, I concluded that port 25 is closed, hence port 587.

I tried various combinations of smtp.live.com, smtp.outlook.com, SSL, & TLS, but to no avail. And then it occurred to me that my username/login should be my complete email address: username@hotmail.com and with smtp.live.com, port 587, and TLS it worked!

Outbound: smtp.live.com
Port: 587
Encryption: TLS
Login: username@hotmail.com
Password: **************

Hope this helps!
