[RESOLVED] Backup issue
All backups work when I click backup now. But do not backup on dates set in settings. Only way is to Backup now. This is apart from Nonstop Backup which works ok.
I am using windows 8.
I have seen references to this problem on the net but have not seen a solution, is there one.
Thank You
Keith

What type of backup/image are you making?
Is it to an external drive, NAS, network?
Have you run a repair install of 2013?
What schedule have you set up?
Is there any errors showing in the True Image log?
Have you disabled any of the Acronis services or unticked any of the startup functions of TI in MSConfig?
What other software do you have running in the background such as InCD or Drag2Disk?
There is an updated scheduler available for a different problem on W8, but the above items need to be checked first before seeing if the scheduler will solve your problem.

Hi Colin thanks for the help.
Not sure what you mean by type of backup. The backups are My System, MY Partition, Microsoft Outlook, My Backup (nonstop).
I am using an external drive
I do not have a disc as I upgraded on line, can I still do repair install, if so how do I do it.
Schedules My Partitions Weekly/Monday/2am My System Weekly/Friday/9.30am Microsoft Outlook Daily/10.30am My Backup Nonstop
Had a look in tools and utilities but cannot see how to view true image log
Have not disabled any services or unticked any startup functions
Not running software mentioned or any software that might conflict

Keith,
Type of backup = Disk Image/Partitions or Files and Folders, NSB. So, you have a NSB task a Files and Folder backup (Outlook), I'm not sure though what type of task you have My Sytem and My Partition set as.
Download the installer from your Acronis account (available if you have registered your serial number to your account), run the installer and select Repair.
The log is viewable from the task. Right click on a task and select View Log, or, to view all logs, click on the cog icon in the top right hand corner and select View Log.

Hi Colin
I do not think I set the task on My Partitions or My Systems it did it automatically, plus I do not know how to change it.
In my Acronis account I chose Products and Downloads. I then had a choice of latest build or Bootable Media. Was not sure which one to choose. Am I in the correct place.
I have viewed the log. Acronis True Image Console is sometimes ok and sometimes it gives a warning.
I have also discovered another problem. When I delete a backup in my Nonstop Backups I get a warning that Nonstop Backup has stopped working. The backups I delete still appear. When I go back and restart Nonstop Backup it takes a considerable time, but once completed I look at my backups and the ones I deleted are gone. But I have to go through the same process if I wish to delete some more.
I did not have any of these problems with Acronis 2011 and windows 7. It is only since I have bought a Windows 8 computer and upgraded to Acronis 2013.

Hi Keith,
I'm having the exact same issue as you. My scheduled backups worked great until a couple of weeks ago about the same time I updated my Windows 8 Pro with with latest updates from Microsoft. I'm wondering if this may be causing the issue. Currently I'm having to manually start the backup each day to my external hard drive.

Hi Colin
Not heard from you since I answered your last post. Have you given up on this problem.
Hello Dennis I think you are right there seems to be a problem between windows 8 and Acronis 2013. I had no problems with windows 7.

Keith,
You only replied yesterday, and I do have a paying job to fit in around my volunteer work here, though I do understand your frustration.
Have you now located your logs and checked them for any errors or warnings?
Have you now downloaded the installer from your account and run a repair install?

Hi Colin
I apologise for chasing you about a reply, as you responded so quickly to my earlier posts I wrongly assumed you were doing this full time.
I have run the repair install, and thank you, it has resolved the problem. The backups are now happening at the timed settings.
I do have one other question. Is it possible to select multiple days when deleting nonstop backups. I can only select one day at a time. Or is it possible to automatically delete/overwrite days once you have a certain number, say 7/week.
Thanks again
Keith
High Dennis
As you see from above I have resolved my problem. If you do the same and run repair install it will hopefully do the same for you.

Keith,
Good to hear your problem is now solved.
I'm unsure if more than one day at a time can be deleted, I don't think you can. There is no way to schedule deletions when using NSB.
Might be worth adding to the True Image 'Wishlist' in the forum sticky topic, the ability to delete batches of NSB images.

Hi Colin,
I noticed yesterday evening I had some more updates from Microsoft, after I applied and re-booted my computer my backup started up immediately after log-in. Also my scheduled back for 11:00 PM ran automatically too. I will hold off before I do the suggested fix above to see if in fact my problem was fixed because of some update from Microsoft being applied.
Thanks
Dennis
