That is too many years back for us to know for sure. If the Win 7 is GFT type disks rather than MBR style partitioning, then 8 would not know about that.

I would hate to see you ruin your Win 7 source disk. If you intend to try, It would be better if you did a disk image backup and then restored the image onto another disk as a disk image restore. You could adjust any partiton size issues later.

Afterwards, you would need to verify the "starting partition offset" is correct and it may require correction. You should plan on having the Win 7 windows recovery CD handy which you can make on your computer.

Acronis True Image version 8 is nine years old. Much has changed in Windows since then. While it might work, I would not risk the safety of my backups on it. Buy Acronis True Image 2013.
