[RESOLVED] True Image 2013 Corrupted Windows Explorer and Desktop

Thread needs solution

I recently installed this very invasive piece of software with the plus package. Immediately all my desktop icons went white and wouuld not work and explorer.exe could could not search for files or open any shortcuts. There were no entries under control panel. What really annoyed me that you couldn't turn off, disable or run manually this piece of software and it kept running backups in the background which I did not want.

Installation and uninstallation were a nightmare taking a long time to do either.

After uninstalling the software my computer has returned to normal.
Now how do I get my money back??

Peter,

Unless you selected to run Non Stop Backup, Acronis defaults to doing nothing at all as far as running backups is concerned upon installation.

The white icons is Windows updating its database, normally they revert to normal once th database is updated and file/shortcut assocaitions have entered registry.

The fact you have no Acronis entries under Add/Remove programs (Programs and Features in W7/8) would indicate that for some reason TI hasn't installed itself properly. To fix this you could try running the installer again and selecting repair.

To ask for a refund you contact via your Acronis account Acronis support.
