Backed up to a RAID 0 array, now broken

Thread needs solution

I have this external cabinet (Icy box) with 2 HDD in a RAID 0 configuration that I have backed up my computer to using Acronis TI. However, this RAID was broken as I plugged the box into another computer using USB as opposed to the eSATA port I used on my computer.

Now I want to recover stuff from the box but I don't know if it is possible to repair a broken RAID 0. I am a bit reluctant to do this since it broke my computers RAID 1 configuration when I plugged it in and it became very messy with Chkdisk running and attempted to "fix" the partition table... But if it is all right to try it again I would like to do it, if you think a split file over two RAID 0 disks can be mended. Or any other ideas?

Thankful for any help.

Greetings,
Acronis products do not offer any type of RAID Recovery... beyond you restoring a RAID set from a previously created image.

This has to exist prior to the failure and needs to be restored to a functioning array.

Since none of the disks in a RAID 0 configuration contain a complete copy of your data, you cannot merely slave one of the drives and attempt to recover files.

If you have an image of your failed array and get it functioning again we can try to help with your recovery.

If you need to recover data from a failed array that does not function or has become broken or corrupt you are going to need RAID Recovery software. I have used this:

http://www.runtime.org/raid.htm

Packages from other manufacturers are also available... GOOGLE is your friend. Failed RAID is never fun without a back up. Good luck :0)

Thank you for the link! RAID recovery software is what I need since both the RAID 1 setup on my computer, and the RAID 0 setup in the Icy box broke at the same time, thus the backup was also broken...
I did not know about RAID recovery software, but the rest I knew. Thanks!
