VMWare backup - doesn't load in VMWare 9.0

Hi guys,

Been using VMware for years and just started using Acronis 11 to create a virtual machine in addition to a full image backup. However, when I try to load the virtual machine into VMware 9.0.0, what happens is that the operating system, Windows 7 Ultimate, starts with "Windows is loading files..." runs twice through that process and then reboots and for a moment I see the VMware loading screen.

Note that I'm NOT loading this on the same machine, but another one, just to test. I have run through the hardware compatibility wizard, but that didn't help. I've tried to change the VMware version compatibility but no matter what I do, it just starts loading and then reboots.

Any ideas? It's not a big deal since I have an image backup as well, but I've learned from experience that verifying that backup options work is very important and so far this option doesn't work for me.
