Acronis True Image 2013 - backup - partitions not visible, switch to disk option not present, build 6514

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image 2013, I created a bootable flash disk, and, was able to boot successfully from the flash drive. I booted it on a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 8 Pro on it. When I clicked the backup option, it did not display any partition information, and, also did not have a switch to disk mode option.

I tried contacting the Chat support session which is "supposed to be available" within 2 minutes, however, I did not get connected with a chat representative even after waiting for much longer than 2 minutes.

If anyone has used Acronic True Image 2013 to create a backup of a windows 8 prod laptop which has a SSD and a regular serial ATA hard drive, please let me know the steps.

Basically, Acronis backup is not functioning as documented in the user guide. I'm not sure if the money I paid for a full license is worth it at this point.

Thanks in advance.

You mean the recovery CD doesn't see any disk?
Do you have Intel SSD Caching enabled? If you disable it, do you see the disk normally?
If no, the CD doesn't support your hardware. I would definitely check with Acronis support. If they confirm it, your option will be to upgrade to the Plus Pack and create a WinPE-based recovery disk.

also did not have a switch to disk mode option.

There is no such switch in the Acronis version running from the CD. Only in Windows.
