TrueImage 2011 backup file became unusable
I have made a real nice backup (.tib) of a clean install of the system (I backed up the whole disk), and used it for a while when I needed to refresh the system.
Then, I changed the size of the logical disks on my hard drive, and I can't use it any more.
A bit of advice would be really helpful - how can I get it to install? I tried to remember the exact size of the system logical drive and make it that size again, but to no avail.
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.
Ok, the whole 10 yards then.... I don't have Acronis installed right now ( I just burned the CDs 2 years back and I use them). If it's definitely necessary I'll install it and make screenshots, but if not - below is rather full description of what I've done and how.
Configuration No.1
Laptop came with:
- Win7x64 Home Premium
- Hidden disk with Win7 recovery
Can't remember any more which one was physically first on the HD. I think this part is rather irrelevant now.
Later on, I shrunk Win7 logical disk, got rid of recovery partition and created another logical drive, using Acronys Disk Director 2011.
Configuration No.2 (in the order as it was seen graphically in Acr.Disk Dir. on the HD):
1) System sector (which I used for OS selector); don't remember the exact size, around 1 Gb or less - I also have a .tib of this sector
2) Logical #1 - Win7x64 ~ 250 Gb
3) Logical #2 - WinXPx32 SP 3 (installed later as 2nd system) ~250 Gb (THIS IS THE BACK UP I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO BE ABLE TO USE ON THE CONFIGURATION No.3 or crash it all, revert to configuration No.2, use my backup, resize disks again and re-backup)
I never backed up the whole HD, just every logical disk I had.
Then, I resized the existing logical drives, and added one more logical disk
Configuration No.3 (as graphycally seen in Disk Dir.):
1) Logical #1 - Win7x64 34 Gb
2) Logical #2 - WInXPx32 20 Gb
3) Logical #3 - Data disk 410 Gb
With Acrony OS select I think it's installed on one of the logical drives after numerous install-uninstalls while trying to make the backup from Config.2 work.
I don't remember if I kept what I called "system sector" or weather it was a sector or a drive. If it's essential, I'll load Acronys and look.
Then, my XP crashed (it's the system I use most) and I discovered that after restoring from the the backup, it wouldn't boot and OS selector wouldn't recognize it. I reinstalled XP from zero, but the install isn't as "clean" as the previous one, so I'd really like to be able to use my original backup that was made from the Config.2. I am OK with Acronys, but apparently not as good as I thought. I think I used the option when it backed up by sector or with sectors - it's all Chinese for me, but it had something to do with sectors.
I am somewhat familiar with the process of back-up and recovery, I've done it quite a few times. The only thing is that I have very little understanding of how stuff works. I took a look at the write up (it's quite good; I wish I had it when I first started using the product).
I am also not very good at reading manuals and long instructions. Takes me rather long to "get it".
I guess, what you are trying to say is that I should chunk everything on my HD with New Disk option, then just repeat steps as described in the guide (using different partition sizes) for my "system sector", Win7 logical drive & WinXP logical drive? Contents of the Data drive aren't important.
I was reading the guide No.1, it seemed what I needed, but then I saw that it refers to some "TI" (what is that?), and it's not for 2011. I think you say that I can just use this guide anyways.
This one, right? 1. Grover's How to-- TIH2012-2013 Restore to larger or smaller disk

I F,
First, I am not involved in multiple boots so can offer no advice.
If you want your restore to look exactly like it did at time of backup, then use the guide item #2--Restore to same size disk.
If you want to restore the backup with minimal change of partition sizes (restoring all partitions included in backup) then the #2..Restore to larger or smaller disk will restore.
If you want another configuration, it would probably be best to create the desired partitions manually using a partition utility (such as Acronis Disk Director or another such as Partition Wizard. After the creation, you could then restore whatever partitions you need.
Because you are using a dual boot, any restore you perform may have issues and need a Windows Recovery CD.
Hopefully, some of the forum MVP's can offer your more assistance for your special circumstances.
Good luck.
