True image home 2010 won't start 'creating partition image' process...
Trying to back up my C drive and I have been using true image home for many years to successfully do so but as from today, I cannot get true image home 2010 to start the 'creating partition image' process. As per some advice on the forum, I have disabled the distributed link tracking client service, I have reinstalled with the latest build version of the software I have run CHKDSK and I also turned off my antivirus software but it will not run. The software opens but when I start the backup task the actual backup process won't run. Any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I did have some issues earlier today where I had to disable the on-board audio because it was crashing my system anyway once I disabled the on-board audio the system stopped crashing but now I still cannot make backups using true image home 2010.

Hello Mark
Thank you for your message. No I haven't disabled any Acronis services and I have just double checked and the Acronis scheduler service is definitely installed and running. I have tried everything I can think of and cannot get a backup to start. It just freezes at the window with a message 'creating partition image' but nothing is happening.

Drew,
While you sort out your issues, as MVP Mark has indicated it is important that you do create some current backups.
Boot from the Recovery CD and choose backup.
When selecting what to backup, check mark the disk block.
If you need more help, look at some the guides listed in link #1 below.
After you have some successful backup, you can try doing a re-install of TrueImage overtop the existing which is using the repair feature. If that does not help, you can try a un-install and cleanlup, then do a complete reinstall of the program. A cleanup utility is listed in my signature link below.

Hello GroverH
Many thanks for your recommendations. I have done all you suggested and used the cleanup utility and reinstalled using the latest build of true image home 10 i.e. 7160. Still no backups can be done. I have attached a screenshot of where it gets to and goes no further. Do you have any other ideas as to what is the problem? I have used this true image home 2010 system for 3 years without a problem and suddenly as of last week it no longer will backup.
It works using the recovery disk but not from within windows - any idea why this may be happening?
Many thanks.

What is the target "D" drive?
Is this a separate partition on your main drive, additional internal drive, externally connected drive, etc?
Can you try and do a small file backup instead of a disk/partition backup to check if your results are similar?

Hello James
The target drive is a NAS drive attached to the network which has worked for many years with True Image Home 10. Since it has stopped working I tried backing up to the D drive but same problem - it doesn't work either. Will try the small file backup and let you know.
