Need to get HD images/snapshots and restore specific versions?

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack and need to get full Hard Drive C: partition image in a way that I could restore full HD images versions (just like snapshot). So far it is not working....
I used Acronics older version for WXP a while ago and that used to worked great on WXP (my old laptop).
Now I have W7 and Acroceis 2012 but not working.
I need to created multiple good images version with different setting which I wants to restore when required....

Steps:
- Installed this software on computer.
- Created bootable USB.
- Boot with USB.
-ISSUE 1: It don't read attached 1TB USB hard drive when boot via bootable media.
- ISSUE 2: If I used 64GB memory stick for destination folder, it starts creating image of C drive and finish in 2-3 min which don't look normal. I tried to restore to test one but no luck.

Looking for correct steps. Thanks.

Do not backup only C:. That may have worked fine on XP, but Win7 and Win8 often boot from a hidden partition and not C:. You need all partitions to boot properly.

Create a full disk mode Backup. Select the checkbox for the entire disk (not just individual partitions). For this option, switch to disk mode (upper right blue link) until you see disks and not partitions to select. Select the disk. That ensures that you have everything you need, and you won't need to understand how the disk is laid out with possible hidden partitions. A full disk mode Backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

As for non-detection of USB drive, where is it connected? Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case. See if that works better. Also try a different cable, if you have any issues recognizing that drive in Windows.
If it's a USB 3.0 port, it's possible that the current Rescue Media build doesn't support your USB 3.0 controller.
