Currently Using ATI 2010 - Should I Upgrade to ATI 2013?

Thread needs solution

I currently use ATI 2010 on a Windows 7 desktop. From time to time I will do an image copy and I have scheduled daily incremental file backups and monthly full file backups to NAS. Everything seems to work well but I am now three releases behind the current version and wonder if I should upgrade. I am very confident with ATI 2010 as I have successfully restored both image copies and files plenty of times.

I am torn between upgrading to 2013 or just remaining on 2010 until I build a new system with Windows 8. Cost wise it is not an issue as I often get an offer via email from Acronis for an inexpensive upgrade. I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot upgrading to ATI 2013 (if there are stability issues) when ATI 2010 seems to be rock solid for me.

Any sage advice?

If your current version does everything you need, and the bootable Rescue Media recognizes your hardware and can restore to your drive, then I see no need to upgrade.

I agree w/tuttle--if it's been "rock solid" for you then stick with it.

I use 2010 on a W7HP x64 PC myself, and it works very well. Seems to me that the bootable .iso image, which is what I use exclusively, has some GUI glitches i.e. sometimes I have to wait to do a button-press. But otherwise it is fine.

There are some minor glitches with 2013 .iso/bootable as well, but I guess that's no matter to you since you run ATIH out of Windows.

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Also, note that 2014 will be out in the not-too-distant future so at least wait for that and see if there's anything there to entice you (tho AFAICT its enhancements are mostly Cloud-related which I would never use myself).

Thank you both for the advice. I believe I will stick ATI 2010 for the time being.
