Not saving auto cleanup settings and way too many backup versions

Thread needs solution

Windows XP

I have a lot of logical drives C: D E F G H I J K L M Z

I have Drive Backups for all of them, the backups run once or twice a week depending on drive. For most of the drives its set to create a full version after 5 incremental and save no more than 2 chains, on some its 3 or 4 chains ... or at least I though it was

I noticed my backup media (a Drobo RAID) was getting full and there were too many versions. I went through all of the profiles and found one was set create only incremental, and half of the others had no cleanup option set. So I went through and fixed them - wondering how I could have messed up - and in fact I didn't. After changing them, half of what I fixed still had no cleanup and I had to keep changing until my changes stuck. Why????

And now what happens with all the extra versions I don't want, will True Image gracefully delete them or will it mess me up more?

Don't edit backup tasks. Create brand new task(s) with your desired options, including a limit on number of backups, size of backup folder or date of oldest backup to be retained. Don't mix backup tasks: create a separate folder for backups of each task.
